Scientific Board

The scientific board is an independent committee of internationally-renowned professors from around the world. It advises the Foundation Board on all matters where scientific criteria should predominate and as such plays a crucial role in the pursuit of the objectives of our University. The scientific board has an advisory role, a guiding role for the various decision of the Swiss School of Economics.

Prof. Dr. Marenglen SPIRO is graduated Physicist in University of Tirana, Doctor of Science in Biophysics in University “Paris VI “Pier et Marie Curie” in France.

For a long time he has been Professor in Physics and Biophysics of Tirana University, then Professor of Molecular Physics and Mathematics in School of Industrial Mathematics and Physics of Polytechnic Center “Saint Louis” in Cergy, Paris France and Professor of Molecular Spectroscopy in University of Limoges France.

Between 1987 – 1991 has been charged with Albanian – France scientific and technical relations as well as with cooperation Albania – UNESCO scientific and higher education projects. 
Awarded by French Minister of Culture Jack Lang as “Chevalier des Palmes Academiques”.

Professor M.Spiro is author and co-author of about 45 scientific articles, about 49 congress communications, 12 university text books and about 20 communications and articles concerning higher education.

In 1997 – 2003 he has been the Rector of Tirana University. 
Actually, he is the Rector of “Marin Barleti” University School and Scientific Secretary of Albanian Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Prof. Dr. Tony Kuo received his bachelor degree from University of Pittsburgh in Journalism and Communications, Master from Indiana University of Pennsylvania USA in International Affairs and Doctor Degree from Tamkang University, Taiwan in American Studies; visiting Fellows of Sigur Center, George Washington University and Stimson Center. He also serve as Dean of International Affairs Office of Shih Chien University, CEO of Zypher Cultural and Educational Foundation, Vice Chairman of Asia Pacific Democrat Union and senior International advisory committee of National Youth ministry of Taiwan. He was the chairman of Applied Foreign Language Department and Language Center of the University. 

He have published a book entitled " American Think Tank And zits Influence toward Cross Strait Relationship." And journal articles in U.S.- China Relations, ASEAN and other Area Studies.

Dr. Christopher Andrey holds a PhD in high energy physics from the Ecole Polythechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL – Switzerland) and is a Director at Artelys UK. After having carried out long-term investment planning studies in the context of national energy transition strategies, Christopher specialised in the study and design of incentive pricing policies. In particular, Christopher has studied the effects of different forms of electricity dynamic pricing on household consumption, the support to investment in high efficiency devices in isolated energy systems, and the effectiveness of different support schemes directed towards renewable electricity generation technologies in the context of the transition towards “market + premium” remuneration schemes. Christopher leads a study assessing the benefits of regional cooperation when assessing power system adequacy. Christopher regularly works for energy regulators, ministries, and the European Commission.

Dr. Loc Do is the Vice President at Ho Chi Minh City TESOL Association and Executive Director of Institute of International Education at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics & Finance. Prior, Dr. Loc Do held the position of Dean of English and Executive Education at Vietnam National University.

Dr. Loc Do has intensive experience in international teaching and consulting. In 2012, he was certified as an Adjunct Professor of Troy University (USA) to teach in Vietnam campus. In 2014, he was accredited as an Associate Professor of University of Business and International Studies (Switzerland). Besides, Dr. Loc Do has served as high-level-consultant to CMSquared Consulting (USA), International Business School of Scandinavia (Denmark), ERC Business School (Singapore) and The Straits Network (Hongkong). His academic credentials include B.A. and P.G.D. in TESOL from Vietnam; M.B.A. and D.B.A. from USA; and Ph.D. (ADB) in Management from Switzerland. His years of experience in international education and consulting are a great asset for Swiss School of Economics.

Prof. Dr. Engjell Pere is the Dean of Economic and IT Faculty at the European University of Tirana. Graduated in 1982, University of Tirana, Economic Faculty. Several years’ academic experience and lector in different economics subjects, as Microeconomics; Macroeconomics; Public Finance and National Accounting. The academic Professional Experience of Mr. Pere are on Economic and IT Faculty, Finance & Bank Department, at European University of Tirana (2010 – present), Faculty of Economy, Economics Department, at University of Tirana (1982-2010) and Lector in Economic Faculty at South East European University (SEE) - Tetovo, Macedonia (2004- 2006). He had experiences and commitments at Chairman of the Board of SME Foundation (Small and Medium Enterprises) funded by the European Union's PHARE program. (1994-1997), as Member of Scientific Committee of Economic Faculty, University of Tirana, 1990- 1991 and 2008-2010), as Executive Director and project – manager in Centre "Business Promotion & Public Reforms" (NGO, 2003-2010) ans as Participant in several projects in field of market research and business support and good experience in finance management of international company. 

Prof. Pere has published some articles in International Journal as ‘ Business regulation and economic growth in Western Balkans’ Countries’, ‘Pertinence and future of Corridor VIII’, etc… He speaks Albanian, Germen, English and Italian.
